Table of Resilience: Black Culture, Struggle, and the Shared Experience
December 3, 2025 - January 24, 2026
Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia
Richmond, VA
Liberated Arts Foundation presents its art exhibition, Table of Resilience: Black Culture, Struggle, and the Shared Experience.
This exhibit honors the kitchen table as a powerful symbol of Black life. It is a space where stories are passed down, movements are born, hair is braided with love, and memories are etched into history.

We pay homage to the kitchen table, as a site of resistance and renewal. It is where laughter and tears coexist, where generations gather to share wisdom, and where conversations about justice, healing, and empowerment take root. From whispered dreams to bold declarations, the kitchen table has long been the birthplace of civil rights movements, community organizing, and cultural preservation.

From family connections to the pursuit of justice, the kitchen table is more than a piece of furniture, it is the heart of the home.
