Communion by Amil Richardson
Digital Print on Canvas
24"x30"
Communion explores the sacred intimacy between faith, time, and endurance amid adversity. Centered on an open bible and anointing oil bathed in divine light, it captures the unbroken dialogue between God and the human spirit. The table, both an altar and gathering place, symbolizes how Black communities have drawn strength from collective faith across generations. This work speaks to resilience not just as survival, but as a daily choice to trust in divine direction over one’s own understanding.
