On Film: A Black Archive by Nova Janela Goode-Williams
Analog photography
11"x14"This photo is part of a larger work, inspired by the song famously known as "Ni**as In Paris" (Jay-Z, Kanye West, 2011). Its strong themes of resilience and pride, despite adversity, are guiding principles for this series, which aims to build black archives that pass on knowledge and a sense of pride to future generations, because in a world seeking to erase decades of Black history and futures, what does it mean to create visual archives built to sustain our stories and carry on our legacies?
