The kitchen table is a safe and sacred places where we eat but growing up it was also the place my grandmother would speak fierce unapologetically black love into to us. The importance of wearing your crown with your chin lifted high. That your Afro was a sign of strength even in chaos and must of everyday life and struggles. This represents how we leave that kitchen table. Standing tall and resilient.
